MATERIALS NEEDED: Principles of Fire Behavior & Combustion 4th Edition
INTRODUCTION / DIRECTIONS: This assigned paper provides the student the opportunity to research the proper extinguishing agent for two combustible products of their choice. The combustible products can be anything of your choosing. They can fall in any of the class’s A, B, C, D or K. You just need to pick 2 combustible products and go with them. You write this paper detailing the following information:
• What are the 2 products that are burning?
• Describe how each of the products becomes combustible I.E: what is the chemical process it undergoes during pyrolysis, or vaporization etc…..
• What is the most effective suppression agent for each combustible product?
• What side of the fire tetrahedron does the suppression agent attack and how for each one?
• How does the suppression agent attack that side of the triangle for each one?
