Based on what you think about the matters and issues discussed in the readings (chapters 9+10), formulate your own opinion of the topics discussed (ie: do you support the conclusions of the authors? Or, based on the data presented, and/or your own understanding, do you have a different conclusion?).
Write around 2000 words supporting your opinion regarding your chosen readings.
Your paper should outline the position/opinion that you are taking and support that opinion with a critical and reasoned argument. You may choose to agree or disagree with the writer or expand on the matters discussed to support an additional position based on more recent data. There is no wholly right or wrong opinion in such matters, but it is the strength and accuracy of you arguments that will count most towards your assessment. It is expected that each student will draw on material presented in the lectures, and other materials that they may have researched themselves, to support their case. Marks will be awarded based on your ability to provide evidence to support the position that you have taken.
